Ashanti Shequoiya who is better known by the name Ashanti is an extremely famous American singer and actress. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti, a teenage singer-songwriter and actress in the US, had her name signed by Murder Inc. Records to release her debut album in 2002. The same year, she was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? The track "What's the Love?" by Fat Joe as well as Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them. She became the first female artist to hold the highest two positions within the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and Luv? at number two. Luv? Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, popularly referred to in the media as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on the 13th of October, 1980. Tina Douglas was her mother and Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas previously had a voice. She is the oldest and she has a Kenashia Shia who's her younger sister. Douglas named her after the Ashanti Empire in Ghana in which women ruled and influence and Douglas was hoping for Ashanti to follow the same model. James was her grandfather. He was a leader in the civil rights movement with Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960s. Ashanti was discovered by her mother when she heard Ashanti singing Mary J. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti was in the film of Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) as well as Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as a young extra. Ashanti has also been featured in a few music videos. These include K.R.S. - Act One's "MC's as if they don't" and Eight-Off Ghetto girl. Ashanti was sought out and signed by a variety of record labels, including Bad Boy. The self-titled debut album of Ashanti was released in 2002 through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration was Ashanti's fourth studio album that was released on 3 June 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released on radio as well as digital) dropped on the 16th of October in 2008. She was in the film Christmas in the City and played Latasha Montclair in Army Wives. Aitch is a British musician, sampled her track Rock wit U for Baby on 10 March 2022.
