Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist and musician. She was the first woman of her generation to be awarded the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a rising star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. The first few years of her life were spent in London in London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only an teen, has enjoyed an extremely successful recording and performing career. Her father has accompanied her to numerous performances over many years. She has released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. A year later, she dropped the Grammy nomination-winning Live in Carnegie Hall. As she's appeared on all the major stages in all over the globe, her career on stage is extensive. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't restricted to just the music industry. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. She also acted on the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played as a Bharat Nayam dancer on Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will continue to grow. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent a lot of her youth living between London and Delhi then moving to California where she attended high school. At the age of 9, she started studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar was during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi, four years after. Accompanying her father as he toured the world Anoushka had a wealth of experiences appearing at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival and performing with George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament to recognize her artistry and musicianship as an outstanding musician from in the Asian Arts.
